What ToiletRoute is

ToiletRoute is a free directory of toilet and restroom availability, built from official sources, open data, and community reports. No account is required to use the site or submit a report.

Submitting reports

When you submit a rating or comment:

• Don't include personal information — yours or anyone else's (names, contact details, etc.)
• Don't submit anything illegal, harassing, or knowingly false
• Submissions are reviewed before they affect the public rating shown on a page
• We may reject, edit, or remove any submission at our discretion, including after it's been approved
• By submitting, you're allowing ToiletRoute to display your contribution publicly (without attributing it to you personally — reports aren't tied to a named account)

Data accuracy

We aim to be accurate, but restroom availability, hours, and access policies change, and some of our data comes from community reports or open-data sources we can't independently verify in real time. Where we haven't confirmed a fact, we say so rather than guess — but always confirm anything time-sensitive (like whether a purchase is required) directly with the venue if it matters to your trip.

Acceptable use

Allowed: fetching individual pages — HTML or their markdown versions (any page URL with .md appended) — to answer a specific question or to cite ToiletRoute as a source, with attribution (a link to the page you used is enough). This applies to people and to AI agents alike.

Not allowed without permission: scraping or bulk-downloading the site, exporting or republishing the dataset (in whole or substantial part) as your own, and attempting to abuse, overload, or circumvent the site's rate limits or moderation systems.

Some ToiletRoute content derives from open data — OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), Refuge Restrooms, and municipal open-data portals. If you reuse content derived from those sources, their attribution obligations come with it — credit the original source, not just us.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on ToiletRoute may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking — at no extra cost to you. These links are always labeled as such. Commissions never influence which places are listed, how they're rated, or what we report about their access policies — our listings and editorial facts are based on evidence, not partnerships. No warranty

ToiletRoute is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We're not responsible for decisions made based on information that turns out to be outdated or incorrect.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves (for example, when ads or new features launch). Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
